Asheville has many building options to choose from. When thinking about townhouses, or as some call townhomes, there is an art to building it correctly. Here are a few things that you should keep in mind:

• Engineering – knowing the exact lay of the property and planning ahead is always important. From streets, to storm management, to utilities – this is not only important for sustainability, but for the highest return on your investment. Also, design the lots and homes first, and save the streets for last.
• The Homes – creating a great townhouse plan that is easily adaptable for a living and work space is essential in this day and age. So many folks are working remotely and we need to accommodate that. In addition to that, the homes should not all look the same. Adding key exterior features without creating a lot more work is not that difficult. Colors can definitely come into play as well. Finding a variety of shades that blend together well can make all of the difference in the world.
• The Land – with all of the development going on, you should take your time when planning and clearing land. Removing all of the trees may not be such a good idea. Think BIG PICTURE, work with an Engineer, and make the property beautiful.
• The Greenspace – spending time outdoors is essential for not only our own health, but to encourage a healthy community. Playgrounds, Dog Parks, & Trails are some ideas, but don’t stop there. Make sure you have planned greenspace if you want to create an even more desirable place for your clients to reside.
